Little bit of Crabbie! Snappy Birthday Card

Crab-Snappy Birthday

Here is a card I (Bobbi) created using a few scrapbook items, some you might already have!

I used an old Stampin Up set called (I think) Under the Sea.  I really think if you have a beach theme set it would work just as nicely too!

I stamped my clam and crab on red cardstock and cut the outline of each image.  I used my hole punch to create the eyes of the crab.  White pen to color the clams eyes.

I used a sandy brown paper and a darl brown ink with a stipple brush to create the sand texture on the card and a simple tear of the paper to give it more depth.

Now the sand castle was fun!  I really love it when I can create an image with just using a punch.

I used my index card punch to create the sand castle, Martha Stewart carries a punch similar to what was used as seen on card.

I cut the brown card stock 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 and punched only the top section.  I cut another piece 1/2 x 1/2 and punched the topm stippled in a dark brown ink and layered.

I just created a cute card in a snap!

Our project for today is.....
When we think of summer - we think of baseball.  In honor of summer and baseball, we created this 6x6 spiral bound baseball themed scrapbook.  It's perfect for the little leaguers in our lives!

This is my favorite saying - 'All you need is glove"

Who can think of baseball without the classic song - Take me out to the ball game....  (bet that song is stuck in your head for a while today!!)  We printed this on a word template using our word template tutorial.  Here is the link in case you missed it:  http://crabbycakescrafts.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-make-custom-template-in-word.html

Here is another fun saying 'If you can't stand the heat - you can't play my game"

As a gift for stopping by our blog today - we are re-posting out baseball bat and ball svg files.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TODAY!  See you tomorrow.

Baby Shower Custom Invitations

Baby Girl Shower Invitations
Crabby Cakes Studio was requested to create custom baby shower invitations for our client, Shona.
Knowing she is having a little girl, her only request was to be in the colors green, pink and white.  The design/theme she requested was to be "baby booties".

Bobbi search high and low for an entire week to see if there were dimensional invitations in the "baby bootie" style.....well, guess what?  No such luck!

Bobbi created 2 invitations for Shona to choose from....both custom created.  No copying or scrap lifting here!

These were the two invitations presented to Shona..........
Baby Shoe Invitation #1
Baby Shoe Invitation #2

Shona really like the sparkle of the flowered rhinestones and the color variations of invitation #1 especially since the baby's room is in bright pink and greens with flowers!

We happily created 85 adorable custom baby shower invitations!  Congrats to Shona, and we hope you have a great, funfilled baby shower! And of course never ending happiness your daughter will be bring you and your husband!

Oh, another loving touch was that Shona added to the invitation was requesting her guests to bring a children's book rather than a card!  Love it!

The invite read: (excluding the party details for privacy)
Come celebrate
the pitter patter
of tiny feet
in the our household
with a
shower for Shona

As an avid scrapbooker, whenever someone I know is going to have a baby, I love to make them a scrapbook for the first year.  It always starts with a welcome page and ends with the first birthday.  Below are some of the pages that I made for that book.
This is the front cover of the book.  I just am so in love with blue and brown these days!

Here is the welcome to the page.  My two favorite titles are "You are Purr fect!!" (Thank you Bobbi for that one) and "Welcome to the Jungle" (a nod to the 80's"

Don't you just love the monkey and lion.  They turned so cute.

In between the welcome and birthday - I add pages for all of the major holidays (Easter, Valentines Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc)

With every new baby book, I always have the last two pages first birthday!  In this book, the cake opens to hold 2 additional 2x3 photos!
I used a cricut cartridge for the hat and than added glitter (everything looks better with glitter)!
The "WISH" is from the $0.99 section at Target.  What a great bargin to complete this adorable page!

Thanks for stopping by Crabby Cakes Studio.

Red Velvet Cake Pop Receipe (from Wilton.com)
Ingredients:

1 box (about 18 ounces) Red Velvet cake mix
1 box (3.4 ounces) chocolate pudding mix
4 eggs
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup canned cream cheese icing
1 bag (14 ounces) White Candy Melts® (I used 1/2 package of while Almond Bark)
Makes:

48 tablespoon

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray one 13 x 9 x 2 in. sheet pan or two 8 in. or 9 in. round pans with vegetable pan spray.

In large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water and oil; beat at medium speed with electric mixer 2 minutes. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake 30-35 minutes for round pans; 35-40 minutes for sheet pan, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan to cooling grid and cool completely. Divide cake in half; freeze one half for future use.

In large bowl, use hands to crumble cake until no large chunks remain. Add icing; mix with fingers until well combined. Form mixture into cake balls. Chill in refrigerator at least 2 hours. Melt Candy Melts according to package directions. Dip sticks into melted Candy Melts and insert into cake balls; let set. Wait until candy is completely firm before dipping the pops completely in melted Candy Melts; let set.

Makes 48 – 1 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-1/4 in. diameter)
Makes 24 – 2 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-1/2 in. diameter)
Makes 16 – 3 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-3/4 in. diameter)
