FALL IS IN THE AIR

Well, we are slowly moving into Fall.  It is my favorite time of the year when all the leaves are changing and the nights hold a little chill in the air.

September's CD Calendar insert captures that cool crisp feeling!  I used Debbie Mum's fall paper for the lower section of the insert.  The Indian Corn palette is great since it reflects all the colors of Fall!

Lucky me!  When my neighbor, Louann, moved she gave me a big bag of flowers and wreath stuff, which just happened to have these fall leaves...simply a perfect embellishment for this little page!

Adorned the page with little orange rhinestones and a button!

Fall is in the air or at least on your desk!

April CD Calendar Insert

 APRIL CD CALENDAR INSERT

Let's face it, nothing says Spring like flowers and Peeps!
These sugary treats come in so many colors it makes it easy to create a Spring or Easter Card in any color!

On this insert we used the traditional yellow Peep color.
We have the SVG available for all you Sure Cuts Alots users!  Please visit our blog for your FREE monthly SVG file for downloading this month. The eyes of the Peep is 3 dimensional brown paint.  Another idea, not shown, is to use Prism Glitter to give that Peep sugar look coating.

We added a few silk flowers and adhered the flower with a light green brad.

January and February CD Calendar Inserts

As promised  where are the January and February 2010 CD Calendar inserts.  Each month Crabby Cakes Studio will post a monthly CD insert for you!  We hope these are an inspiration to create one for 2011!

JANUARY 2010

The champagne and glasses is a digi images from PCCrafter.com

The wine bottle and glasses were printed in color,cropped, and then clear glaze was used to create the 'glass' look.

To add the festive feeling of the New Year little confetti beads were glued using Elmer's Glue randomly over the page.

FEBRUARY 2010

The cupig is a digi images from PCCrafter.com

The cupig was printed in color,cropped, and then pink glitter was added as sparkle and bling.

To add the feeling of LOVE, we hand stamped some hearts along the edge in a pink ink.   We added a few clear rhinestones to the calendar and the corners.

Leprechun March Calendar Page

We love making gifts for co-workers, family and friends!  We created 2010 CD Calendars during the holidays as part of our gift giving season.  Everyone that who was lucky enough to receive one loved them!

In effort in getting ahead of spring cleaning we came across one extra CD Calendar for 2010,so it is going to part of 2010 postings!

We know missed posting January and February, but don't worry,we will get those posted next week for you!


MATERIALS:
Use 1 blank CD holder, must be the hard plastic thing.  Simply flip the CD holder open and place your monthly calendar in the side that has the ridges (the side where the CD cover is held)
CARDSTOCK
BACKGROUND PAPER
EXTRAS:Stickers,rhinestones, paper peicings,and stamps

MINI CALENDAR:We used mini calendars which you can find all over the internet for free! Another great way to save money!

MEASUREMENTS:
Each monthly cardstock insert is cut 4 1/2x 5 1/2.
Each monthly background pages is cut 4 1/4x5 1/4.

Decorate:
This particular March calendar is decorated with the PCCrafter.com calendar image of the Leprechun.
We used orange flock on the beard along with gloss and gold glitter.

The background paper used was purchased by our local Hobby Lobby last year. Again, we used left over scraps!

The pop up circle is embossed in gold,using a stamp from Michael's dollar bins! We love to bargain shop!
